Our Gainesville Youth Basketball Prep Program is a great starting point for young aspiring players who want to learn how to play basketball. Our expert coaches focus on developing essential basketball skills, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive strategies.

What age groups are eligible for the basketball programs?
RADD Sports basketball programs cater to athletes from ages 5 to 18, divided into different levels:
•Prep Level: Ages 5–8
•Developmental Level: For beginner athletes
•Competitive Level: Athletes ages 9–13
•Elite Level: Advanced athletes aged 12–16
What is the difference between prep, developmental, competitive, and elite?
Prep Level (Ages 5–8): Focuses on basic motor and mental skills required for basketball. Practices are designed to cover all fundamental aspects of the sport through fun and structured activities. This level meets 2 days a week in 8-week cycles.
•Developmental Level: Ideal for beginner athletes or those needing to develop foundational skills. The goal is to provide the training necessary to advance to the competitive level. Teams are formed to play an “in-house” schedule, meeting 2 days a week during the season in 8-week cycles.
•Competitive Level: Designed for athletes ready for a higher level of play. This program trains participants in advanced skills and tactical training within an “in-house” competitive format. Athletes meet 2 days a week in 8-week cycles and may be selected for tournament play based on performance and attitude.
•Elite Level: The most intensive program aimed at highly dedicated athletes. This 5-month program includes training 3 days a week, emphasizing tactical skills, strength, and conditioning. Elite athletes regularly participate in weekend tournaments to hone their competitive edge.
What skills will my child learn in the programs?
Our programs cover essential skills like dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense. As athletes progress, they’ll also work on tactical knowledge, team strategy, and strength conditioning.
Do you offer off-season training programs?
Yes, we provide off-season programs for both competitive-level youth and high school elite athletes. These programs run in 8-week cycles to maintain and enhance skills during the off-season.
